Title: Design and development of service robot for vision-impaired students at Qatar University
Abstract: Vision is the most critical and intuitive approach for people to observe the external world since more than 85% of external information can directly be gained by the vision system. Individuals with vision impairments face numerous challenges in navigating their surroundings and accessing educational resources independently. Despite the advancements in assistive technologies, there remains a significant gap in providing comprehensive support tailored to the unique needs of vision-impaired students, particularly within educational institutions. To address this gap, our senior design project aims to develop a service dog robot specifically designed to assist vision-impaired students in navigating campus environments and accessing academic resources effectively.
