Welcome to Qatar University Blogs!

We are proud to make this service available to all current Qatar University students, faculty and staff.

What is a blog?
The term “blog” is short for “weblog”. As blogger.com has so eloquently put,

“A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world. Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes.”

What is the QU Blogs Service?

Qatar University is providing all students, faculty and staff the ability to create their own blog. We have chosen WordPress as the software for this service, software that many of you may already be familiar with.

What can I put in my Blog?

You may post text, pictures or almost anything you can think of. Please keep in mind that the content of your Blog must be in line with the Qatar University Information Resources Acceptable Use Policy.

We think this technology is so important for communication in today’s world that we want to promote the use of blogs by everyone at QU. The QU blog service is available to everyone at QU, you can use your QUID to sign on, and your blog is created automatically. Your blog becomes a part of the blog directory and you can have your blog searched under the “QU Blog” umbrella.
