Applying for CS - Cybersecurity Concentration

Towards the end of the Fall semester, CS students who have either completed CMPS 385 Computer Security (or CMPS 380 Cybersecurity Fundamentals) will be invited to apply for the CS Cybersecurity Concentration. The admission decisions are finalized once CMPS 385 final grades have been posted to Banner. To be eligible, students must have achieved a minimum grade of C in CMPS 385 and a GPA of 2.3 or higher. Candidates with a higher GPA will be given priority during the selection process.

Please take note that the sole distinction between the CS Major and the CS Major with a Cybersecurity Concentration lies in the fulfillment of the 12 credit-hour Cybersecurity Concentration Requirements in place of the 12 credit-hour CS Major Electives package. Additionally, it is important to be aware that all the courses within the Cybersecurity Concentration necessitate the completion of CMPS 385 as a prerequisite.
