After graduating many students suffer from unemployment. Especially journalists, some companies have strict rules for accepting their employers in the field. But at the beginning of the year 2011 the GCC job market got expanded, especially in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. In the article “Qatar real estate market to stabilize further” at 2010 it was mentioned that the Qatar real estate market are experiencing an increase in demand for all types of real estate which can be attributed to the strong economic environment.
In the article “Journalists and other writers (ANZSCO: 2124)”, it was mentioned that over five years to November 2010 the employment increased by 13.55% in all occupies around the world it’s expected to be in that range in the GCC and 73.3% are employers with a full-time job, as we can see that the other 26.7% of them have part time job or unemployed. Before fifty years, the mass communication was a poor field because the technology wasn’t that good back then. As time passed printers were invented and so television came about, followed by other media technologies. So people started to study this material and work in that field and that’s why the employment increases every now and then. In fact, it does decrease because every year we have new graduates that want to work in the field but because the organizations already have enough employers, which might decrease the opportunities for others.
In addition, many female students study mass communication because they find their self in that specialization the broadcasting and journalism, but end up not working in the field because of their society and family. And work in banks or economic companies. This might decrease the number of employment in the Mass and media communication field. But nowadays people started to accept the fact that women are capable to work in the media field.
For example, Qatar Foundation gives the fresh graduates the opportunity to get a training course in a company that supports their major to help them get ready for work and to have the opportunity to show their skills to that company. So they can decide wither they fit or not in this field or in this company more precisely.
