Computing Club Organizes Cyber Week

The QU Computing Club has organized the Cyber Week that virtually took place on September 21st and 23rd. The event was curated for the purpose of increasing the awareness of cybercrime risks, and introducing the members of the club to the cyber security field and practical attacks.

QU and UoAberdeen Organize AI Symposium

The CSE department at QU has organized an online mini AI symposium in collaboration with the computer science (CS) department at the university of Aberdeen (UoA), UK in September 2020. The event focused on showcasing the research work related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in both departments. More than 35 faculty members from both sides attended the event. Dr. Abdulla Al-Ali, the head of the department, and Prof. Nir Oren, the head of CS department at UoA have opened the event with welcoming remarks.

“What it means to be a PhD Student”: A Workshop at HBKU

Many graduate students enroll in PhD not knowing why, therefore they suffer a lot when they are faced with challenges they never expect. on Sep 9th 2020, Dr. Tamer Elsayed has given a workshop titled “What it means to be a PhD Student” as the first in the “Life after Graduation” series organized by College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). In the workshop, Dr. Tamer gave some quick advice to help existing, new, and prospective students set their “mindset” in their long, serious, and very important journey.
