The Patchery Plaza Up-cycling Art Center
Up-cycling, also known as creative reuse. It is the process of transforming waste materials, useless, or unwanted items into new products perceived to be of greater quality and give it a second life.
“Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure.”
MISSION: Everything could be converted into an art piece and have a chance to live a second life. The project spreads awareness among people to be smart on how to transform trash into art. Up-cycling is a practice that needs to be awarded especially on how it will affect the new generation of the community and give them a sense of value towards everything.
Designing up-cycling arts center will has many benefits that can be visualized in the four pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030 – Economic, Human, Environment, Social – to encourage people to know and practice up-cycling, focus on engaging them in the re-birth process of each item, create an oval interactive community space which promotes communication between community users, and change the community habits in profusion and their perspective toward using up-cycled items.
