The 50,000TR Saadiyat Island district cooling project is one of the largest in the Middle East.

The project will be one of the Middle East’s largest district cooling operations, providing a combined capacity of 50,000TR, and serving a 27km2 area.

Two of the three cooling plants will be completed by the latter part of 2012, and the third, in Saadiyat Beach District, will be completed in 2016 as further properties reach completion.

Christophe Maquet, CEO of Dalkia Utilities, explained: “ADC was selected after a rigorous bid process to ensure that layout and design considerations met stringent standards in reliability, energy efficiency and ease of operations and maintenance.”

Ibrahim Sleiman, CEO of ADC, added: “Thanks to our local experience in the UAE and our well-established resources in Abu Dhabi, ADC has the necessary skills and experience to deliver this fast-tracked project.

The design-and-build project is scheduled to start immediately, and to be completed by the second half of 2012.
