Pardisan is a total environmental park in the image of the Persian garden, a paradise in the desert. It is the unique conception of Iran’s Department of Environment and is designed to bring all the organisations traditionally concerned with nature –zoos, botanical gardens, and museums of natural history, etc. – under the aegis of one institution.
The centre is part of a multi purpose complex, primarily an educational, research and cultural centre. A utopian vision of designing communities by giving a central role to nature. A huge park that could contain micro-ecologies representing the five major climate
zones in the world.
A pardisan is a concept, a presentation of world order. An Iranian concept on viewing the world, reflecting unity of man and nature. All the world bio-climatic and cultural zones set within the context of the universe and based upon the theme of sustainable adaptation and symbiotic.
the scheme for Pardisan emerged. It would be a planar simulation of the world with Iran in the center. It would include the continents Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Australia. It ‘would· be bisected by the Equator.
Tehran wanted to recreate the ecological richness of the whole world in one park.
