Current Transformer_FG1

This building is constructed to be an apartment hotel building. Hence, metering is not required for the apartments. However, metering is important for the substation’s devices, so a current transformer (CT) should be installed for the transformer and the diesel generator. Kahramaa specified the standard ratings of the CTs. Also, Kahramaa recommended to, either use Class 1 or Class 0.5 [5].

Dry Type Transformer:

Referring to Kahramaa regulations, to meter the transformer’s current, a CT should be installed with the same current rating as the CB of the transformer. Thus, a CT with 1600/5 A will be mounted.

Diesel Generator:

The diesel generator has a current rating of 350 A. However, this rating is not a standard rating and not available in the market. Hence, a CT with a higher rating will be employed which is equal to 400/5 A.
