Isolated SEPIC

One of the most important protection methods in a DC-DC converter is the isolation transformer. Isolation describes the electrical separation between the input and output to find a dc path between its input and output. However, on this project, it was decided that designing an isolated one-to-one transformer to separate the input current and the output current for more protection and decrease the harmonics. Moreover, Isolation transformers are used in the converters to provide the (galvanic) isolation. The isolation transformer is designed to have a ratio of (). This type of transformer can be used as a step up or step down, but usually, it operates with ()ratio.  During this project, a simulation of the isolation was made for the SEPIC converter to avoid the direct connection between the source and the battery.
