Consisting of two voltage-fed full bridges shown in above This provides one of the best efficiency figures for bidirectional chargers both in forward and reverse modes at full load. However, this charger losses efficiency when its operating at low load conditions. The charger losses ZVS on one side when at full load and another when below half-load but in both cases the other side maintains ZVS. Low voltage stress and simple control complexity are other advantages to the DAFB configuration.
This configuration shows a lot of potential and can be improved by achieving better efficiency at low load conditions.
