There are two configurations for adding PVs and EVCS to the system. The first configuration is case 2 (K2) that consists of the connections between the grid and EVCS. The second configuration is case 3 (K3) that consists of the connection between the grid, EVCS, and the PV panels.
K2 configuration
The configuration of K2 is simple as the EVDC takes AC power as input and DC power as output. The grid feeds the substations with 11KV, and since the EVDC maximum input voltage is less, the transformer used to step down the voltage to 415V, as shown in Figure 1.
K3 configuration
The K3 configuration is similar to the K2 configuration as the PV panels are connected to the same low-voltage bus. All the PV panels are connected to the DC bus since the output power is DC, so to connect the panels to 415 V AC bus, an inverter required, as shown in Figure 2.
