This project aims to design an EVs’ charging infrastructure for QU. To attain this aim, the following objectives should be accomplished:
- Studying the parking area and the distribution power from KAHRAMAA substations to each building in the university.
- Make good use of the existing facilities as much as possible so that QU does not need to build new facilities for the EVs parking and charging infrastructure.
- Estimate the EVs charging capacity that will be deployed without affecting the grid performance and quality.
- Deploy solar energy with photovoltaic (PV) panels, whenever possible, to boost the charging capability of the infrastructure. Indeed, EVs’ fast-charging stations require much power, which the QU grid might not be able to tolerate. This problem can overcome by adding PV panels to the charging stations to support the grid in charging EVs.
